After looking at the cost of other solutions, which are largely moving to cloud-only solutions so they can lock you into to monthly fees, being able to create a Linux Virtual Machine on-prem (for free\!) is an amazing alternative. I can create our weekly signage very easily using Xibo and since I cast to Windows computers behind displays, the licensing cost was also free. > > **Nachteile**: I originally bought the licensing to have Xibo talk directly to my Samsung TVs but eventually it stopped working well and became a headache, and troubleshooting got harder. So I switched to using Windows computers behind the TVs and that really helped because you get better troubleshooting information from these, and it just seems to work better. I do sometimes have issues with the Windows computers showing the desktop bar on top of the signage, things like that, but the more I work on tweaking the computers, the less that is a thing.
